One of the veteran actors of Malayalam film industry, Thilakan was dismissed from Association of Malayalam movie artists (AMMA) a few days ago. This was in relation to his comments against some of his co stars and association. Thilakan who used to do major roles in Malayalam films complains that the industry is under the control of certain actors and he is not given due consideration by AMMA which is meant for the welfare of artists. AMMA is of the stand that the statement made by Thilakan before media was not fair and if he had any complaints he was to give it to association and thus solve the issue. He was dismissed on grounds of indiscipline and this decision came after a meeting of film organizations executive committee and this senior actor. Thilakan appeared before the committee after several days and gave his explanation for what happened. He was of the stand that the committee is not ready to consider actual situation but is just trying to throw him out. But Innocent the president of film association says that the executive committee is not satisfied with the explanation given by the actor and he is not ready to apologies while his act proves to be indiscipline. Though he is out of rolls of AMMA he can continue to act in films. Thilakan is about to question the authority of executive committee to remove some one from role and is to approach the court in case there is no authority.
